There are two ways to create a vampire in the Sims 2. One is easy, the other a little harder. This article will help players with both methods.

Vampires are perhaps the simplest of the creatures to make in the Sims 2 universe. They were added early in the Sims 2: Nightlife expansion pack.

For comparison, Werewolf sims must be created initially by the leader of the pack. Plant sims are made when a sim gets overzealous with bug spray while tending orchard trees. Zombie sims can be created with a level of ease about equal to a werewolf, but truly Vampires are on a level of simplicity all on their own.

There are two ways to make a sim into a vampire. One is exceptionally easy, the other is a matter of luck, but it is probably a lot easier than waiting on the leader of the pack to stroll onto a lot for a sim to befriend to become a werewolf.

Boolprop a Vampire Sim

As with most cheats in the Sims 2, using the powerful boolprop cheats is the fastest way to accomplish a tricky task for an impatient player. To do this press Ctrl+Shift+C. In the tiny cheat text above the player must type out boolprop testingcheatsenabled true If the cheat has been entered correctly players will be able to hold down the Shift key and click on any sim to bring up a new menu.

The boolprop menu will appear confusing if one is new to it. A multitude of selections will appear. It’s best if players don’t blunder about boolprop as these cheats were created by the developers to test the game and players that use boolprop recklessly are likely to suffer game crashes and glitches. Also, players should never click on Force Error under the boolprop menu.

To change a sim instantly into a vampire, click on the desired sim while holding down Shift. On the boolprop menu click More. In the next boolprop menu a selection will appear: Make Vampire. This choice is self-explanatory. Click on it and the selected sim will transform into a vampire. The player’s task is complete at that point.

Making Vampires the Natural Way

If the player is feeling slightly more adventurous and has the time and patience, it is very possible to create a vampire sim the natural way. Normally vampires are turned by the Count or Countess. Think of these two first vampires as a King and Queen, the root of the colony. Players can meet the Count or Countess by shopping downtown. As the game draws NPCs (non-playable characters) and other sims from the neighborhood to populate the shop or restaurant, it is possible that the Count or Countess will appear. Try visiting at night because the Count and Countess are not immune to sunlight.

Players can recognize the Count or Countess easily. Both will walk comically by using one arm to shade their face. They might also go about hissing. Another dead-giveaway are the clothes these vampires wear. Players will recognize them when they see them even before moving their mouse over the Count or Countess to see their name. The player will have to interact and become friends with the Count or Countess to turn their sim into a vampire.

Please note that it is also possible for the Count or Countess to randomly bite a stranger they don’t know. This is a matter of luck but if a sim is out on the town at night it is always a possibility that they will meet up with the Count or Countess’s fangs by accident.
