Shift-Clicking on a Sim brings up a big and confusing menu. How can players navigate it safely to get what they want without crashing the game?

Boolprop is filled with confusing mousetraps. What is DBG Get Dir and Dist anyway? Or this one: !Make Sim my Contact. What does all of this mean? How can players use it to kill Jimmy the boring college Sim or age dreary child Cindy into a teen?

This guide is here to help.

Navigating Boolprop

As always when embarking on using boolprop, remember that these cheats can be dangerous. Save often and try not to abuse them. Never select Force Error.

After entering the boolprop cheat (boolprop testingcheatsenabled true or false to turn them off), Shift-click on a Sim. The following menu will appear:

First Menu:

  • Spawn leads to a submenu, which will be covered in detail later.
  • Debug Toggle FBA On does not appear to work so don’t waste time on it.
  • Set Aspiration leads to a submenu where players can change their Sims aspiration levels, including setting them to platinum for life.
  • Make Unselectable does exactly what it says.
  • Kill usually gives two choices of Die by Flies or Give Dead Token (which doesn’t work immediately).
  • Displayoffers three choices but only Debug Show Sim Gender Preference works.
  • Debug Interaction has four choices, three of which appear not to work, but the fourth Max LTA Score works.
  • Social Debugdoesn’t work.
  • Set to Birthday will bring the selected Sim to a day from its birthday allowing players to have time to throw the Sim a party.
  • Change Suit makes a Sim change clothes between swimsuit or workout, underwear or naked, formal etc.
  • Change Fit brings up two choices. If the sim is average the choices will be Make Fit or Make Fat. Please note that this selection has been known to cause the game to crash.

Click on More and players will see the next half of the menu:

Second Menu:

  • Dump Happy Log does not appear to work.
  • !Make Sim my Contact doesn’t seem to work or what it does is unclear.
  • Make Vampire works, turning a Sim into a vampire. Beware of the sunlight!
  • Make Furious with this Sim this option works when players Shift-click on another Sim, but the fury is one-sided.
  • DBG Get Dir and Dist this works but the numbers probably make sense only to the creators.
  • Plan Outfit this option will immediately allow players to buy and dress their Sims without a pesky trip Downtown.
  • Give Handheld Game this one is self explanatory.
  • Add to Secret Society this cheat may only work for college Sims.
  • Give MP3 Player self-explanatory.
  • Cellphone—give cellphone self-explanatory.

Many of these options in the basic menus don’t work or at least don’t appear to work. Also, depending on the Sim a player Shift-clicks on, the menus may differ. Shift-click on a pregnant Sim for example and the option Force Twins will appear.

Shift-clicking should always be done in moderation, but some things, particularly under the Spawn menu and on the newspaper and mailbox, are really worth their salt. To get specific with one choice, checkout the Sims 2 Boolprop Cheat Spawn.
