With Apartment Life a new paranormal being was added to the Sims 2, Witches and Warlocks. This article provides details about them and how players can make their own.

Witches were added with the latest expansion pack of the Sims 2. There are three types of witches, classified by what they study. Good witches study the ways of the light, neutral witches study the neutral ways, and bad witches study the path of darkness. Witches are created easily when cheating using boolprop, though they are not on the same level of simplicity as creating vampire sims, it is possible to make them naturally.

Male sims can become witches as well, but they are called warlocks. Magic within the Sims 2 is not restricted by gender, only the title changes. Male sims will be able to cast all of the same spells that a female sim would.

Making Witches

The fastest method of making a sim into a witch of any kind is by activating the boolprop cheat. Type Ctrl+Shift+C to get to the cheat text. Once this is up enter boolprop testingcheatsenabled true. Hold down the shift key and click on the mailbox.

Select Make NPC and then More and choose the type of Head Witch desired. Recall that there are three types of witches within the Sims, but there are only two different head witches. One will be the Head Good Witch, the other the Head Bad Witch.

Within an hour the player’s choice of Head Witch will stroll onto the lot and the player’s sim can interact with her. When the Head Witch has a high enough relationship with any given sim, that sim can ask her to teach them the way of good or bad, depending on which Head Witch it is. A spell is cast over the sim and they become a witch.

Witch Relationships in Sims 2

Note that building the relationship with the Head Witch is optional. Using boolprop, a player can manipulate the relationship with the NPC (non-playable character) Head Witch, giving them a nearly 100% relationship in one visit.

There are as many as three ways to do this with boolprop. First the player can shift-click on the Head Witch and choose Make Selectable. Then, if boolprop has been on for a while, the player can simply drag the relationship bar on both the Head Witch and their sim.

Two other ways come with the Spawn menu on boolprop. Select Spawn and generate the voodoo doll or the Sim Modder objects. They also allow players to manipulate their sim’s relationship with the Head Witch.

To make a witch naturally the player must wait around their lot, or visit other lots and hope that they will encounter a Head Witch. Then the player will have to go through the process of naturally building the relationship until their sim can ask the Head Witch to teach them. In many ways it is similar to creating a werewolf where players need to wait on the leader of the pack.

Basic Information About Witches and Warlocks:

  • Good witches sparkle and glow like pixies
  • Bad witches glow green and have green skin like the Wicked Witch of the West in Wizard of Oz
  • Neutral witches appear normal
  • All spells take time to learn, like skill points
  • Good witches use good spells
  • Bad witches use bad spells
  • Neutral witches can use bits of both good and bad spells
  • All witches can use neutral spells

With both good and bad witches after a lot of studying they will have learned all the spells they can. The final spell for a good witch, for example, is to stop death. Others include spells to put out fires, and dry up puddles.
