Everyone is seemingly searching for the Nintendo Wii. Children and adults alike are on the hunt for it. Where can they get a Nintendo Wii console? Who should consider purchasing a Wii bundle?
Where to Buy Nintendo Wii: Consider Amazon, Walmart, GameStop
Walmart and GameStop stores sell Wii consoles, bundles, and games. Target carries those as well, but the consoles currently appear to be unavailable for purchase; tons of Wii games appear to be available, though.
Amazon has a fairly comprehensive selection of Wii items for sale. Yahoo! Shopping offers a shopping comparison feature that may be helpful in researching prices.
How Much Do Nintendo Wii Consoles and Wii Bundles Cost?
These game systems can be purchased standalone or in bundles. Those looking to buy games to accompany the game system may wish to consider purchasing a Wii bundle instead of the standalone game system and separate games for two reasons: 1) a bundle may be a better total price than each component purchased separately and 2) if the standalone game system is sold out, bundles may still be available.
A quick search at Amazon reveals that new standalone game systems sell for approximately $350; GameStop offers them for $250. To get an idea of how much bundles cost, the following bundles are currently advertised on Amazon (the prices below are for new products):
- Nintendo Wii Console with Starter Kit Bundle for $396-$430.
- Fun ‘N Games Bundle (includes Nintendo Wii Console, Wii Sports Memory Card, Wireless Nunchuk Kit, and Carnival Games, Balloon Pop, Chicken Shoot, and Ice Age 2) for $529-$580.
- Nintendo Wii Console with Wii Fit and Balance Board, 4 Controllers, Wii Sports, and Wii Ski for $635-$670.
Based on the price discrepancy between Amazon and GameStop above, a little price comparison research may be in order to land the best deal.
Good Nintendo Games: Wii Video Games for Girls, Boys, and Families
Game Weasel published a Nintendo Wii buying guide that recommends the video games Star Wars The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels and Madden 09 NFL All-Play for boys and Animal Crossing: City Folk or Wii Disney Sing It for girls. For families, Game Weasel recommends Mario Kart, Wii Music, Wii Fit, or Hasbro Family game night.
Nintendo has certainly struck gold with Nintendo Wii. Not only are the consoles and games in high demand, but the company also offers related Wii accessories such as rechargeable battery kits, sports packs, special Nunchukcontrollers, memory cards, and even wireless sound seats to sit in while playing a game!
