Want to buy a cheap Nintendo Wii? This article provides tips and suggestions on how consumers can find and buy an inexpensive Wii system.
The Nintendo Wii is the most popular video game system on the market today. There is plenty of demand! Therefore, in order for a consumer to buy a Nintendo Wii at a discount or low price, a strategy is needed. With planning, discipline, and a little luck, consumers can find a Wii for a great price or maybe even for free! 1. Develop a Wii Budget and TimelineThose beginning their search for a cheap or discount Wii should decide what it is they want (system, accessories, games, etc.), when they want it, and then establish a plan. That means a budget. Not just any budget, but a goal-oriented Wii budget. How does one set up a Wii budget? Simple. The first step is a shift in mindset. Don't be an emotional buyer. Be patient. Be deliberate. Be methodical. Don't rush it. The second thing is to take a month, in which you methodically track all your expenses. No matter how small or insignificant, write down everything you spend money on. Keep all receipts. After doing this for a month, go back through your spending history carefully and thoroughly. Decide where to cut things and how to save money. Then, put together a money-saving plan -- and stick to it. Perhaps such a plan involves telecommuting a couple days a week, packing lunch every day (instead of eating out), cutting back on Starbuck's. Whatever the specifics, a person can save quite a bit of money each week. The average consumer may may even be able to save up enough money in 3-6 months to buy a brand new Wii system! Consumers should also consider ways to make money. Look for some good money making ideas to get started. Adding to one's income will help expedite the Wii purchase. 2. Look for Contests and Online DealsThere are occasional contests that offer video game console prizes or even Wii giveaways. While working your money-saving plan (see above), scour the Internet and local region for contests and giveaways. This author was fortunate to find such a contest - an online contest - and able to score a free XBOX 360 as a result! (Yes, it wasn't a Wii, but wouldn't you take a XBOX 360 for free?) These contests and giveaways are out there. Be patient and keep looking. There are also several online entities that provide a Wii system in exchange for taking multipe online surveys and/or signing up for several online affiliate groups (such as Blockbuster Online, Netflix, Doubleday Book Club, etc.). This may be an option to consider, but be careful. There are scams out there. 3. Consider a Co-op or Sharing ArrangementIf there are a group of friends who all want a Wii (or any game system, for that matter), maybe they could set up a time-share type arrangement. Instead of one person fronting the full cost, two or three friends could go in together. They would then set up a sharing schedule - where they rotate the game system throughout the year. 4. Consider a Used or Refurbished SystemA consumer who really wants to save money on a Wii purchase should keep his or her eyes on eBay and other online auction sites for used systems or even a refurbished Wii. They should also call around to local video game retailers. Some video stores have refurbished systems available. Don't forget friends and family. Those looking for a cheap Wii should ask their friends and family if they - or someone they know - are selling or parting with their video game system. 5. Research Wholesale SourcesTry to hook up with a wholesale supplier. Look for ebooks on the subject of finding wholesale product suppliers or contact Ebay powersellers (preferably those that you know or that you've established at least a solid consumer relationship with) and ask for their advice. Good luck!
